In 2009, I mailed disposable cameras to 33 people from all around the world. Friends, acquaintances, favorite musicians, and total strangers, asking them to photograph their lives and document their relationship with the world outside of themselves.

For the first week in December 2009, they did just that. This project highlights the human condition and the similarities and differences of being human in different countries.

The images you see are paired to highlight differences, draw attention to parallels, and emphasize the human experience.
